Rebecca Sgotto
BIO
Rebecca Sgotto is a Toronto based Textile artist with a background in Interior Decorating. Rebecca’s current body of work is a design concept for a collection of functional cloths titled 'Interior Cloths'. This collection displays a wall hanging, table runner and area rug that showcases intricate hand drawings in a cohesive colour palette. This work would be created with fiber reactive dyes printed on fabric, followed by the deconstruction of the fabric, and reconstructed into woven cloths. The colour palette and her designs are inspired by imagery found in the home and in nature reformed. Her chosen colour palette for the cloths are inspired by the colours she is drawn to, purple and black. She fancies the colour purple, and black ink is the medium she enjoys doodling in. Rebecca enjoys working with her hands through weaving and it allows her to continue to be creative in using her colour palette to evolve her patterns through intertwining.
