Ira Marie Zerrudo
BIO
Ira Marie Zerrudo is a digital designer inspired by the interconnected natures of technology and textiles. Often working with themes based around introspection and the online experience, Ira Marie enjoys creating surface designs, digital art, and collaborating with other creators and designers on a variety of different projects. Working digitally is Ira Marie’s preferred way of making, but textiles have always been a personally important medium with techniques and qualities that can’t be experienced or achieved digitally. This duality of analog and digital is what continues to inspire Ira Marie’s current and future work.
CAPSTONE PROJECT
INTERWOVEN/INTERNET
Interwoven/Internet is a surface design collection that serves as a love letter to the virtual realm. Inspired by growing up online, playing games with friends, and experiences in many different communities, Interwoven/Internet combines these ideas with digital design techniques to create deeply personal surface designs. The designs within the collection can be used virtually in online spaces and can also exist on digitally printed or woven textiles. This collection shares a unique affinity and nostalgia which exists in people who’ve grown up with the Internet. For those unfamiliar with the online world, Interwoven/Internet offers a tiny glimpse into a culture that thrives with creativity and passion.
