Isabel Catalli
BIO
Her practice focuses on how an individual interacts with the objects she makes. When designing, Isabel imagines how the object will be approached: how will it welcome it’s user? What will draw someone in to investigate the surface? What will the user touch first? These are the questions she asks herself when designing an object. Each piece is designed with not just a functional purpose but with elements intended to interact with the body in a certain way. Isabel uses flowing forms in her work to invite the user to connect to each piece. Her designs aim to incorporate texture and gestural curves as they embrace luxury and comfort.
CAPSTONE PROJECT
LUXURIST
Luxury comes in many different shapes and forms. Luxury can look like an expensive designer item or it can look like a day off. A luxurist is someone who loves luxury no matter the form. The collection includes two luxurious home furniture pieces. The lounge and cushion represents the luxury of comfort and rest and the pedestal represents the luxury of time.
