BIO
I am a furniture maker from Oakville, Ontario. I produce lumber with my own sawmill that I turn into furniture. The style I work in is modern, simplistic design. I work a lot with the sustainability side of the material, which includes working with live edge furniture.
CAPSTONE PROJECT
STATEMENT
My goal is to show the viewer where the log came from and make it known that this log is sourced sustainably from nature. One of the many ways I would like to show this is through using live edge of the tree within the piece. I would like this to be demonstrated to the viewer by creating a piece that resembles the raw state of the material yet in a quality piece of finished furniture. This can be done by using material that is salvaged from a tree that has been cut or fallen down and milled myself.
