BIO
I build figurative and surrealistic ceramic sculptures that embody the symptoms and experiences of neurodivergence that I encounter in my day-to-day life. My body of work is personal and self-reflective. When I relate form with feelings I am able to better express myself and better explain how I experience life. How I perceive life is something entirely my own and I invite the viewer to contemplate and reflect on how they experience life and their own way of being in the world.
CAPSTONE PROJECT
DON'T LOSE YOUR HEAD
The tactile sensation of clay between my fingers and the action of squishing and crunching clay stimulates my mind and inspires me to create. I build figurative and surrealistic ceramic sculptures that embody the symptoms and experiences of neurodivergence that I encounter in my day-to-day life. This series requires me to dissect what I am feeling and visualize my symptoms so that other people can better understand and relate to me. My body of work is personal and self-reflective. Using soft colours and simple gestural forms I am able to portray my personal experiences and challenges. When I relate form with feelings I am able to better express myself and better explain how I experience life. How I perceive life is something entirely my own and I invite the viewer to contemplate and reflect on how they experience life and their own way of being in the world.
