CAPSTONE PROJECT
NUTSHELL HOLLOWS
The project and storybook Nutshell Hollows is at its core about having a safe space to call home. Each needle felted creature was carefully designed and created with a piece of me within them and with those pieces are my fears, doubts and hopes.
Each character is meant to be a personification of classic children’s illustrations and stories that I grew up reading and found to be a safe place when the world got overwhelming or scary. Nutshell Hollows has its ups and downs but in the end everything works out okay and my characters get through the sad and scary times to find a home.
