CAPSTONE PROJECT
WRUNG OUT
My work explores the transformation of crochet, which utilizes soft and pliable natural fibres to create intricate knots and patterns, resulting in strong forms. Dipping these in liquid casting slip, they are fired into solid yet delicate works. This juxtaposition of exploring soft and pliable materials with vitrified, delicate clay is what compels me to work in these separate mediums. They both possess a sense of delicacy, and when combined, they create bodies of work that explore ideas linked to my childhood, my grandmother, and my home.
