Liliann Lozanovski
BIO
Liliann is a recent graduate from Sheridan College’s Craft and Design in glass. She is Canadian Macedonian and is inspired by her past experiences. For her thesis work her inspirations came from her travels with her family. While in Macedonia she experienced the feeling of “home”. Metaphorically that is also the feeling that is evoked when she creates her sculptures through kiln casting. Her forms take on an archeological/architectural feeling reminiscent of her explorations at various historical sites visited. Her art reflects her interest in culture and travels.
CAPSTONE PROJECT
YOU AND ME, A VOICE, A TREE
Expression is a way I can connect within and leads me to preservation of self. While making and going through the process of creating, a space opens up and a story begins. It is an extension of what I see, what I feel and what I imagine. It’s like a reflection of the time and space I find myself in. Whether the story is real or imagined it doesn’t matter. What matters is the story continues. It is inspirations that give the story it’s life and momentum. While making with glass, I feel a connection with the material and it’s many processes. I can have a voice both literally and metaphorically. This is a blessing that is invisible, alive and true. It graciously gives my life meaning. It is one that I can observe, one that I can reflect upon and then let go to the universe.
