Britt Kuba

BIO

Britt Kuba is a ceramic and textile artist currently working with hand-built earthenware and needle felted wool. Her work focuses on the comfort of the repetitive process and the meditative state it brings. She embeds herself into her pieces, allowing them to become extensions of herself, taking up space in a world she otherwise feels small in.

CAPSTONE PROJECT

I AM HER, SHE IS ME

I am She.

I embed myself into the process of making through my explorations of organic, biomorphic ceramic forms and needle felted elements. The act of placing myself in my work has allowed me to explore my own inner worlds and bring my thoughts and feelings to life; a physical expression that gives the viewer a window into my mind. As a result, the objects I create take up space in a world I otherwise feel small in. This work is an extension of myself. Just as I am Her, She is me.
