CAPSTONE PROJECT
HOME IS WAITING
Home is Waiting is a reimagining of my family’s tools and land based practices utilising textile techniques and materials. Even in long moments of waiting to return home, I feel joy and happiness reflecting on my family, culture, and community of Muskrat Dam FN. My focus on these positive feelings greatly informs every stage in the process of making. Each work is made using natural fibres that are hand dyed and embellished with quilting and beading. The landscapes and tools are made soft like my feelings and love of home.
