CAPSTONE PROJECT
MONSTER SEEKING MONSTER
I am a monster and I love other monsters.
I am monstrous in my body, in my mind, in the way I love - and this monstrosity is beautiful and lovely. I embrace who I am and reach out for others like me, to be shielded by my personhood and accepted by my body.
I need to show that the monster does not need to be cured in order to have his happy ending - does not need to be paraded in front of others as an oddity to show his worth. I do not want this to become a spectacle of exoticised queer art. I do not want to make something that describes myself to the outsider - I make this for the other as I make this for me. I celebrate myself and my body as I celebrate the monstrous others seen in history and on film.
