Elisa Banks
BIO
Elisa is a glass artist driven by curiosity, colour, and connection. Her work dances between function and sculpture. She creates fun, colorful pieces. Working in the hot shop, Elisa feels most at home. Growing up in a small town and moving to a big city has made her feel as if she grew up in a box. She always felt like conversations were simple, but as she gets older, she feels conversations get tough. “Take me back to the younger days when life was like looking through a kaleidoscope” Currently Elisa is experimenting with system 96 sheet glass, cut and fused in geometric patterns. She then rolls the color up in the hot shop. Her work is a reflection of her bright and colorful personality. I approach each piece as a conversation between light, form, and joy.
CAPSTONE PROJECT
LIFE GAMES
A contemporary collection of glass pieces. First impressions can be easy, relationships and conversations are tough, truth is you never truly know what someone is thinking. As humans we all have wants, needs and desires. We have a past, not always positive and naturally we carry these traumas somewhere deep down, usually where we think others cannot see it. As relationships grow and conversations become more intimate, interactions can be tough. Our traumas become apart of our personalities, we have a choice to push them back or share our true feelings and emotions
