CAPSTONE PROJECT
JOJO'S BIZARRE GLASS ADVENTURE
My capstone project re-interprets Stands from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure through Venetian glass techniques. Instead of making literal interpretations, I aim to show each Stand’s identity through an expressive vessel. I am focusing on using the Stand’s defining visual aspects and Venetian glass techniques to translate this as best as possible. By looking through the history of both topics, I found links between them, showing how our societies from back then and now are different but similar in several ways. The glass pieces are made for fans of Jojo’s to appreciate the series and treat it similar to collectible anime figurines. My work reconsiders the meaning of collecting and value across time. It will have the viewers see their collections as a representation of themselves. Even if both topics are from different eras, fans from both sides can see how the collector puts their identity in each one of them.
