Aiden Lee
BIO
Aiden Lee is a glass artist based in Oakville, Ontario who specializes in flameworked glass. He completed an Advanced Diploma in Visual and Creative Arts at Sheridan College in 2013, before returning to study glass in 2019. Aiden’s current body of work explores geometric patterns, repetition, and symmetry through murrini and cane techniques. His pieces reflect a search for clarity and structure, using geometry to impose order on the chaos of everyday life. This work bridges his background in visual arts with his evolving exploration of glass as a medium for pattern and expression.
CAPSTONE PROJECT
PATTERNING INSTINCT
The “patterning instinct” explores the subconscious drive to impose order on chaos. Using murrini and cane techniques in flameworked glass, Aiden creates sculptural and vessel forms that emphasize repetition, symmetry, and balance. Each piece is carefully assembled and shaped on a lathe to preserve geometric clarity and reduce distortion. The result is a body of work that reflects the desire for structure through methodical patternmaking, where every element of the process informs the final structure.
