CAPSTONE PROJECT
HARD TO EXPLAIN
Three years ago I was watching Good Mythical Morning and had my first panic attack because I thought too hard about the permanence of death.
Two and a half years ago I sat on the floor of my closet with a Miller High Life and cried after accidentally thinking about you.
One and a half years ago I sobbed in the McDonald’s employee bathroom because of you.
After endless rumination and desolation, I decided to address and tackle these experiences and my emotions surrounding them.
Hard to Explain reveals my journey through processing negative experiences and emotions; something I have always done subconsciously through textiles.
This project was created to confront these specific experiences and achieve self-liberation by putting these phrases on display. With these memories out in the open, as large-scale textile pieces, I am taking away their power and striving for self-liberation.
