Natalie Rebmann
BIO
Natalie Rebmann is a glass artist who specializes in flameworking. She has worked with glass since she was 13. Her work focuses on inspiration from the natural world around her, specializing in flowers. With an eye for detail, she aims for realism in her work, using intricate color mixes and patterns to help achieve this. The choice to work in flowers is inspired by the work of the glass artists Rudolph and Leopold Blaschka, who are known for their intricate work in producing glass flowers. With hopes to grow from what they created, she continues to have a focus on achieving realism in her work of florals. Natalie’s love of glass drives her to explore the material and techniques on a deep and focused level.
CAPSTONE PROJECT
EFFLORESCENCE
Florals inspire this piece of work. Recreating flowers in glass offers the idea of forever because they can not die. Glass allows the vibrancy of flowers to translate into the material concisely. This piece is also a focus on realism, taking inspiration from past glass artists who worked with recreating flowers in glass. Through the artists before these pieces, hopes to build on what was created. Glass offers so much in terms of color and longevity, the translation of it into florals allows a connection of the beauty with the promise of no death.
