Vladyslava Topolianska
BIO
My name is Vladyslava - Vlada for short.
I grew up in Ukraine, in a culture that understood public life. Parks, benches, open squares - places where people actually stayed. That sense of space, slowness, and human scale is part of who I am, and it quietly lives in everything I design.
My practice centres on 3D modeling, space planning, and material exploration, with a particular interest in hospitality and public environments. I bring a European sensibility to my work - warm, considered, and uncluttered.
CAPSTONE PROJECT
OUTDOOR LOUNGE AREA
This project developed an inclusive outdoor lounge system for downtown Toronto that responds to the lack of comfortable, well-placed, and psychologically welcoming public seating. Designed for small parks, plazas, and open spaces between buildings, the proposal supports short rest, quiet pause, and light social interaction within a fast and often overwhelming urban environment. The final outcome is a modular system of seating and planter elements that can adapt to different sites while maintaining a clear and coherent material language. Accessibility was treated as part of the social experience rather than as a separate requirement, with wheelchair users considered through spacing and integration within the overall arrangement. The project aims to make public rest feel dignified, calm, and genuinely inviting.
